Duke has shown interest in 2022 four-star PG Jazian Gortman

Duke has recently shown interest in 2022 four-star point guard Jazian Gortman, per Travis Branham of 247Sports.

Per 247Sport’s Composite Player Rankings, Gortman is the 33rd ranked player and 6th ranked point guard in the country in the class of 2022. Gortman has seen his stock skyrocket in recent months. The point guard of Columbia, SC was ranked 99th in the class just seven months ago. Gortman is rapidly improving and programs throughout the country are taking notice.

Gortman is a tough, two-way player who plays with an infectious intensity. He is an explosive athlete. Though he is just six-foot-one, he is capable of making plays way above the rim. He has an extremely quick first step which he regularly uses to beat the defense and get to the rim, where he is a good finisher.

Gortman is more than capable of both handling the ball as well as taking on more of an off ball role. He has an excellent handle and is a quick decision maker, traits that enable him to take on different roles in the back court depending on what is needed.

Gortman is the type of player who could quickly turn into a fan favorite inside Cameron Indoor should he end up at Duke. Just like his teammates, fans will feed off his intensity. His constant motor is sure to fire up fans of wherever he chooses to play.

As it stands now, Gortman has not scheduled a visit with Duke. However, it is still very early in the process and that could soon change. If he does end up at Duke, the dynamic point guard would be a fantastic addition to the team.
